CL&P Custom Energy Audit Services:

CL&P's experienced energy experts can perform evaluations and studies to help you improve productivity and operations.

CL&P will arrange for needed technical assistance and provide cash incentives to upgrade the efficiency of electrical equipment. Once a customer signs a Study Agreement, CL&P will arrange for an Energy Audit or a comprehensive Focused Study of a customer’s specific electrical measures. One-half of the study costs will be paid up front by CL&P, and the customer’s 50 percent share will be refunded following the installation of the recommended energy-saving measures. These measures may qualify for cash incentives of 50 to one 100 percent of the incremental costs to upgrade from standard to higher-efficiency measures. In order to participate in an incentive program, customers are required to sign a Letter of Agreement. In the letter, the customer commits to installing electric energy-efficiency measures within a mutually acceptable timeframe, and CL&P commits to paying incentives for qualified energy-savings measures.

Energy Audit Description

BENEFITS: A comprehensive electric energy study of a customer’s facility.

ELIGIBILITY: All commercial and industrial customers are eligible although the program is targeted primarily to medium and large customers whose average monthly energy demand exceeds 350 kW.

Focused Study Description

BENEFITS: A detailed evaluation of a customer’s specific electrical equipment.

PRIME Audits Description
(Process Reengineering for Increased Manufacturing Efficiency)

BENEFITS: Provides an initial, no-cost, facility walk-through assessment with a comprehensive productivity audit, and, if necessary, an Energy Audit or Focused Study will be conducted.
